5 Fast Food Joints I Wouldn’t Mind Seeing in Richmond

I know Richmond has too many chain restaurants, but there is nothing wrong with asking for a little diversity

5) Biscuitville- The NC based chain makes some killer breakfast sandwiches

4) Pollo Campero- From Guatemala, this fried chicken place gives a nice alternative to the overly breaded stuff here in the States

3) Krystal- Ok, I’m cool with White Castle, too. Krystal is closer to VA regionally. I just want late night sliders.

2) Zaxby’s- More chicken tender places. Zaxby’s narrowly beats out Raisin’ Canes due to variety.

1) In-N-Out Burger- They have a secret menu. That’s all I need to know.

Glad to see in-n-out made the list .. .ANIMAL STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say … kind of surprised that at least one Jamba Juice or Robek’s haven’t made it to Richmond yet …

Give me an Autogrill. I would eat there everyday! You can drink a bottle of wine with a sit down meal while you are filling up your car and finish with a pretty good espresso from a real ceramic cup.

I would DIE for a Cane’s here. Who needs variety when you get perfection?

I’ve never been to most of these places (besides Pollo Campero). Biscuitville sounds like my kind of place :) .

@ TheMarinara, Pollo Campero is sold at Panaderia La Sobrosita on Midlothian Tnpk beside Fiesta Chicken (about midway bt 150 and Chesterfield Towne Center). I’m not sure if it’s every day or not, so call ahead. I think it’s weekends only.

@ BascodaGama –Haven’t you been on Hull St north of 150 or Broad Rock and Walmsley, or Jeff Davis? There are plenty of them!

I would absolutely die for a MAO Colombian fast food in Richmond. Colombian burgers are ridiculously good! See photos and drool uncontrollably!!! (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mao-colombian-fast-food-miami)

Bosco, I get my tacos from Taqueria Dona Rosa. The press the tortillas in the truck. They sell tongue, asada, pastor, and chorizo. They have cilantro, onions, limes, cactus, and many sauces in the cooler. They are at 4004 Jeff Davis highway.

@Downtown foodie.. been there done that.. I was going to El Rincon Latino at Broad Rock & Walmsley when it first opened..(in 93? )

Before that I had to go up to DC to get decent tortillas, etc.

@Sadler.. I know Dona Rosa’s. I go by there on my way to the Airport.

I really don’t have time to run all over town for this… I tried to tell folks about Big Apple Market years ago.

Big Apple… I’ve been talking about that place to my friends and family for years as well. However, I wouldn’t buy any of their fish… Nice that they have them whole but man, it stinks back there.

BTW, Big Apple is owned by some guys that had a place in or near Petersburg and they’re Asian.

Here’s another place to add to the list. Pal’s Sudden Service. http://www.palsweb.com It is a small non-franchised chain in southwest VA and TN. On a trip back from Wise,VA, we had to hit the two in Norton and Bristol, VA. They are that good!

Somehow I just found this post, and had to comment.I had Pollo Campero at the ripe old age of 14 in Guatemala. Pure goodness. To this day, it’s the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. How is it not #1?
