I love these lists, because there’s always something truly superlative-worthy about each of the pizzerias (at least by RVA standards). One day, I’d like to hit up all of the places that get mentioned in the comments. However, when Capriccio’s $1.85 plain cheese slice continually calls to me, it’s hard to divert from my pizza pattern.

If we’re going to talk White Pizza look no further than Mamma Zu’s/8 1/2. We call it “crack pizza” around the office.

THere’s also Genova’s Pizza Express in the West End on Gayton. Not quite Mary Angela’s, but good pizza.

People used to rave about Frank’s White Pizza. I would have do a separate white pizza ranking. There are so many good ones.

My favorite is Frank’s West on Patterson, although he has been skimping on the toppings lately. Stick to the basic cheese pizza.

Also Palermo’s, a new place at the huge new mall off 288 in Midlothian.

As a side note, not a big fan of 8 1/2’s pizza, but they have the best meatball sub in town.

While I haven’t had Mamma Zu’s yet. I can vouch for A N.Y. Slice on Midlothian…Pretty close to the real thing and I can easily come close to knocking back an entire pie.

The one thing I do like about 8 1/2 are the olives on the pizza. they are sooo good. Mary Angela’s is great with some of their wings. Now I want pizza.
