I am starting to wonder where Tarrantinos fits in the rankings. I love their spicy sauce. I love the slightly charred crust. If it wasn’t sucha a pain for pick up i would order their more often.

IMO the best two pizzas in the area come from two underrated places….Mediterraneo in Midlothian and Italian Kitchen West in the near West End.

8 1/2 rocks no doubt although if I had my druthers, i would rather get my pizza from Mamma Zu- only because they make bigger pies. Same recipe- bigger slices.

crushed ice is da bomb. where else in richmond serves it?

i’m thinking of trying to BUY some for my next summer party.

in my family we call it “the good ice.”

also 8 1/2 is authentic italian (naples-style) pizza. i heart it.

I miss Regina’s a LOT. The crust was so good on that pizza. Sbarro’s sucks! But I go to Capriccios about twice a week for lunch. The mini margherita is excellent.

I love Mary’s but my favorite, favorite, is this little place in chesterfield, Pino’s. So good. Can’t even tell you.

Went to Capriccio’s for lunch today. Had my first pizza margerita. Really nice, crispy basily and saucey. Right now, Capriccio’s is my favorite crust (so thin and crispy). Taranatino’s is my favorite sauce. Ariana’s has my favorite pie/toppings (the eggplant parm). Mary Angela’s has my favorite dough for purchase when I’m too lazy to make my own.

At Caps, go there and get a plain cheese slice and see if you can resist ordering another. The whole pie is another experience altogether.

Okay I have a confession, you all may laugh but the pizza I really miss is from that pizza place that used to be in Regency Shopping center called Pizzeria Regina…I think they originated from the Boston North end. I was happy just eating their cheese pizza because their aged cheese was soo good! So sad when they closed….:(
